GREIGE TAKES CENTRE STAGE
Colour combination ideas for neutral and subtle colour palettes
Lately, I’ve been mixing a lot of muted colours for letterpress wedding invitations and stationery – creams, coffee colours, and warm and cool greys – but I have to say, really having a moment for ‘GREIGE’!
Huh? Doesn’t sound terribly inspiring, but it’s a magical combination of grey and brown that looks equally beautiful on bright or soft white, and even cream paper. Greige is obviously great to combine with other neutrals, but it partners up equally well with other hues too. With a lot of pink being in favour this wedding season, it goes a treat with those pale pink, blush and apricots.
It’s the perfect go-to ink colour when you’re undecided between a black (too stark?), grey (too grey?) or brown (too much?) Greige is also a good alternative for the modern wedding event that wants to have that rare (and oh-so-coveted) combination of contemporary, with a touch of traditional or romantic sensibility.
